It's like the world is upside down but people are still walking.
What do they see in their eyes?
How do they hear, smell or sense?
There are small built people with green skin
running in the castles underground with masks behind their heads
What happens when they sit on a fire escaper
To walk down on steel from high above
With curtains closed and glasses off they might shout
Or might they sing?
Could they have a three-letter-initial that can be easily advertised?
Can people recognize them from far away
No that couldn't happen
Perhaps animals could sense them but not people even they become common knowledge
Yes, they can be safe
As long as people wears shoes, senses could never return to primal
Pumps we need for our hearts and tubes we need for our blood
What might our senses wear to adapt to the world when filled with upside down people?
Sound Effects Seoul 2010: Sound Specific
Space Hamilton, Seoul
6 channel sound installation
Bringing the corridor and stairwell of Space Hamilton to their original function to transit,
the abstracted human voice in repetition takes the audience to slowly dissolve and transform
the relationship between the voice and themselves, as well as a connection to their physical sites.
The use of primitive human voice and pipe sound responses to the bare and domestic quality
of the site, where imaginative events take place in each listener's history. I want to offer
an unusual sense of experience within the familiar space using simple sound source in hope
to take the audience inside their subconscious without noticing.
Let the encounter be sudden and the release be preservable.
